Everyone of us has an important part to play in God’s Kingdom. Many of us however fall into the trap of feeling like a part looking for a play, and can’t see that our dreams are making much of a difference or being realized at all.
In the 1950’s the equality of man envisioned by the Declaration of Independence was far from a reality, however Martin Luther King a Baptist minister had a dream and became a driving force in the push for racial equality in the 50’s and 60’s.
In Washington DC August 28, 1963 he expressed his dream in a speech.
“I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain and the crooked paths will be made straight and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together”
Little did he realized the tremendous impact his speech would have.
Don’t give up on your dreams!
PS : There is a wonderful old Jimmy Stewart movie called It’s a wonderful life. You may find it inspirational. I did.
