“Blessed are those who hunger for righteousness, for you will be filled”
There have been numerous times in my life when I have had to go back to someone and make things right.
Doing the right thing, especially if it costs you, is not necessarily something most people strive for in this day and age. And yet Jesus would say if we are hungry for it we shall have our fill.
We cannot think about the words and fail to ask ourselves what is it we want out of life. It is an inquiry that unsettles the heart because it puts our distractions to flight and forces us to look hard at what we are doing and why. This is not a summons to a rejection of our lives, but an invitation to live them with a feeling for existence, a passion for the gift of life.
Jesus would say blest are you who risk everything to find your right place at the banquet, for you are already inside the Kingdom. Blest are you for the scrolled invitations are out and the best of the calves have been killed.
The Kingdom of God is a banquet, but only if you are truly hungry and thirsty will you have your fill.
